Nominees

Robert Fisher - I am running for Director at Large

Hello San Diego BMW CCA Family,

I'm Bob Fisher (aka Backroads Bob). I'd like to introduce myself in order for you to know a little about me and what I can offer the club as a board member at large.

My wife Marty and I are hikers, warm water scuba divers, and dog lovers. I also love fishing. Zeke, our Toy Fox Terrier, is at the door as soon as the car keys jingle and all three of us love to drop the ragtop and cruise in our 2009 128i or 2017 M240i.

I have attended several club events and want to help this chapter grow in size, while maintaining its status as a strong member of the San Diego county community.

I enjoy the club FB forums where folks share their knowledge, experience and advice with some tasteful, good humored joking around thrown in as accessories. I can rely on club members' support with suggestions and recommendations for service providers and want to help mature that supportive community anyway I can.

I bring 30 years of professional project management experience with me and can leverage that in many areas where needed by helping out in scheduling events, securing sponsorships, planning things out, researching new ideas, events, venues managing small and large budgets, etc. I have worn many hats in the business world and participated in several not for profit clubs as secretary, treasurer, leader, event planner, general labor help to set-up / teardown and community spokesperson in Trout Unlimited, Sierra Club, Mohican Fly Fishing Club and the Tampa Bay Coalition to ban commercial net fishing in Tampa Fl., where our success 23 years ago, yielded a rapid return of numerous recreational fishing species to that area leading to an increase in tourist vacation spending.

I look forward to meeting you all at some event during the next several years regardless of the outcome of the vote and wish you all Happy Holidays.

Matt Gage - I am re-running for Vice President

I’ve been an active club member since I purchased my first BMW in 2016 and I’ve been a member of the board since 2018. I also organize the quarterly club tours and try to promote generating content for the website. My favorite thing about being part of the club is the friends I’ve made. In my first term as Vice President, I’ve started recording basic metrics regarding membership counts and website member content analytics. I hope that I can contribute to restoring our membership levels to pre-pandemic levels.

Reza Sharghi - I am re-running for Director at Large

My name is Reza Sharghi a fellow enthusiast that has been involved with the car community for the past decade. 4 years ago I fell in love with Bimmers and purchased my first F82 M4. I tastefully have modified the car over the years and love attending events in Southern California. In 2021 I served as Director at Large hosting one pretty awesome back country drive and I look forward to helping in the coming year. 2021 was challenging without Autocross and a few other events that we normally would have had but optimistic that we will create and even better new year. Personally 2021 was a very busy year for my family being blessed bringing in our second child into the world and now coming into 2022 I look forward to contributing new ideas along with providing a safe atmosphere for our community of members. See you on the open road and thanks for considering me for the opportunity.

Greg Uhler - I am re-running for President

I’m running for chapter President. I’ve been a San Diego BMW CCA member since 1997, and served on the board as Newsletter Editor for a few years and most recently as chapter President. I’m enthusiastic about all BMW’s (and MINI) and enjoy being part of the team that plans, organizes, and runs events for our chapter. My vision for 2022 is to re-establish our autocross program at one or more new venues and to provide the best driving and social events throughout the year for our members, while keeping everyone safe and informed. Thank you!

Catalina Uhler - I am re-running for Director at Large

I have been a BMW CCA member since 1998, participating in many autocrosses, Performance Center events, backroad drives, and social events. Though I can’t talk to you about specific BMW models and parts, I can appreciate beautiful cars and love hanging out with other BMW enthusiasts. This past year was my first year serving on the board as one of the Directors at Large. I helped plan the Cars & Coffee event at the San Diego Automotive Museum in July 2021. I hope to continue in this Director at Large position and help plan more family friendly events for our fantastic SDBMWCCA family.

Ryan Moore - I am re-running for Treasurer

I've been an active member with the San Diego Chapter since 2010 and served as the Chapter Treasurer since 2018. It would be my honor to continue to serve the Chapter as Treasurer in 2022.

Paul Silver - I am re-running for Secretary

I’ve been an active member of the club since 2010, serving as your Chapter Secretary 2014-2015 and from 2018 to the present. My favorite part of being a member of the BMW CCA has been the people I’ve met and the friendships I’ve made. Through our club, I’ve had some amazing experiences, including attending my first Oktoberfest, participating in a group European Delivery experience, and participating in some awesome auto crosses, backroad driving tours, social events, and even a few rallies. Though we’ve had precious few rallies over the years, I did plan and execute a gimmick “photo” rally several years ago, and would like to do another of these, as we work on planning a return of Chapter events in the coming year. It would be my honor to continue serving as our Chapter Secretary.

Lisa Goehring - I am running for Driving School Director

As a club member since 2006, I’ve served on our Chapter board in various positions for the past 15 years. I’ve served multiple terms as Secretary, Newsletter Editor, President from 2018-2020, and this past year as Communications Director. Now our Chapter has a need for someone to lead our Driving School program, and I’m willing to step in to help.

I’ve served as a member of the driving team for a number of years, assisting with graphics, promotion, swag, sponsorship acquisition, and helping out at registration. Now that we’re able to get back on track after two years of dormancy, I hope to help our program get back in action, providing the fun, safe, and instructional events our members know and love.

The Club has provided so many fantastic experiences and friends to me over the years, and I look forward to continuing to give back and help grow our club in the years ahead.

Thi Tran - I am running for Director at Large

Four-year member of BMW CCA (San Diego and Golden Gate chapters) who is crazy enough to use his E39 M5 as the track toy. Looking to give back to the community by helping organize safe and fun Driving Schools.
